I am excited to announce that I have started a new role at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Industrial Innovation team, where I will be working on clean energy projects. Just finished presenting my research on climate equity in Saudi Arabia for the Program on Religion, Diplomacy, and International Relations with the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University. I've been so blessed to be part of this fellowship for the past year, and it was both exciting and humbling to be able to present my research in front of ambassadors, professors, and UNEP directors. Thank you to wolfgang danspeckgruber, Paul Raushenbush, and Rana Ibrahem for their work in organizing this fellowship and to the other presenters Jacob Brown, Maria Alejandra Moscoso, and Philmon Haile.

This week, I met with the offices of Reps. Katie Porter and Alan Lowenthal to talk about the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act (HR 763). I had a great time working with Citizens' Climate Lobby to advance carbon pricing legislation. A big thanks to both representatives for their climate action! #energyinnovation#carbonpricing
When you begin a new job, you have the option of announcing that news in two different ways. You can add your new position to the “experience” section and switch on the “notify network” option. Doing so will promote your new job to your connections—the people in your immediate network—with a standardized announcement.
A good structure to follow is to express gratitude to your previous employer, share your excitement about the new opportunity, and briefly mention what the new position entails. For example, "I'm thrilled to announce that I'm starting a new position as [Job Title] at [Company Name].
“Hard work pays off!I'm thrilled to announce my promotion to [New Position] after a year of remarkable accomplishments. During this time, our team increased sales revenue by 40%, streamlined processes, and successfully launched [Project Name], which generated a 25% boost in customer engagement.
I'm excited to let you know I'm starting a new position at [company name] as their newest [position]. I enjoyed partnering with you while I was with [company name] and hope we'll have the opportunity to work together again soon. You'll know how to reach me if you need help with your research. Take care!
Include industry-specific keywords where possible! For example, if you work as a marketing manager, it would be a good idea to highlight the programs and softwares you're familiar with. If you're a fresh graduate, include relevant coursework and any internships or volunteer experience you may have had in the field.
Use examples that include numbers. if you've saved time or money—by how much? List your accomplishments as bullet points. If something can't be quantified (like job responsibilities), it won't impress recruiters and employers.
Sure, after you land a new job, the first thing you want to do is update your LinkedIn profile. But it might be better to wait, and maybe even check in with the new boss first. “My recommendation is to chat with your manager before you update your LinkedIn profile, especially if your role is public facing,” says Ksar.
