As we’ve updated our rankings, there have been some shifts and additions all over the map. However, a great way to break the rankings down are by position. Check out our top 10 point guards in the state, as well as some guys that just missed the cut but are still college-level guys that could jump into the top 10 next cycle.
Top 10 Point Guards
- Eli Ellis Eli Ellis 6'1" | PG Moravian Prep | 2025 State NC – USC commit and ready to continue turning heads with OTE next season, continuing to showcase that silky jumper of his.
- Chadlyn Traylor Chadlyn Traylor 6'3" | PG North Mecklenburg | 2025 State #384 Nation NC – Picking up steam in terms of college offers, landing many MM offers over the past few months with his performances with Team Curry . Impressive as both a scorer and facilitator and has a clutch gene in him.
- JD Bowden JD Bowden 6'1" | PG United Faith Christian Academy | 2025 State NC – Really shifty guard who likes to create off the bounce. Been up and down this spring as he’s had to deal with a fractured wrist, but looked really good at Wake Forest team camp last week.
- Rodmik Allen Rodmik Allen 5'10" | PG New Hanover | 2025 State NC – Winner in all sense of the word. Brings a quick, downhill creation threat to his group but also has high level speed and agility to bust the ball up in transition. Should have more interest than he does.
- Darnerian Gibson Darnerian Gibson 5'10" | PG Winston-Salem Christian Regional | 2025 State NC – Another quick shifty guy, definitely the best defender on this list. Will sit down and lock you up all game long, all 94 feet.
- Kamran Prince Kamran Prince 6'2" | PG Trinity Academy Raleigh | 2025 State NC – Bigger guard that’s almost a combo, but very aggressive finishing around the rim. Good two way guy too. Picking up low D-1 interest and is continuing to catch eyes with Team Curry .
- Tyree White Tyree White 6'0" | PG Covenant Day | 2025 State NC – One of the most underrated guards in the state, made a great decision to reclass. Really a pass-first guy that makes all the right reads, plays under control, and should be a bigger piece for Covenant Day this season.
- Kenny Vera Kenny Vera 6'3" | PG Northwood Temple | 2025 State NC – Maybe breakout player of the season for Northwood Temple, a relentless scorer always looking to fill it up. Will be a force to be reckoned with again this year, probably a D2 guy when all is said and done.
- Jacari Brim Jacari Brim 6'2" | PG West Forsyth | 2025 State NC – Very good perimeter shooter as well as a distributor for his guys. Good positional size and has held up pretty well on the 3SSB circuit this spring. Should continue to add interest this summer.
- Jordan Vick Jordan Vick 5'11" | PG Word of God | 2025 State NC – ECU commit that has been continuing to play well with Word of God. Elite scorer despite a smaller frame, knows how to use his body and find space.
A trio of guys just off the top 10 include Isaac Tatum Isaac Tatum 6'0" | PG Fayetteville Academy | 2025 State NC , Jaydon Terrell Jaydon Terrell 6'1" | PG Olympic | 2025 State NC and Jon Mwamba, all college level prospects that are impressive in their own right. Tatum is a smooth ball handler and can attack downhill or versus pressure, while Terrell is super quick and shifty, returning to Olympic HS for his senior year where he’s going to have tons of opportunities to play out of ball screens with some talented young bigs.
